Bracket 1–2 · nothing here goes past Core ·
Ramp into oversized creatures and use Goreclaw to make your biggest threats cheaper to cast. Once the battlefield fills with heavy hitters, trample and team-wide power boosts turn a single attack into a decisive finish.
Opening plan: Keep two or three lands with a cheap mana creature, land Aura, or ramp spell. Establish acceleration first, then cast Goreclaw before a sequence of qualifying creatures; Garruk's Uprising, Elemental Bond, and Garruk's Packleader help those threats replace themselves with cards. Cost reduction: Goreclaw reduces qualifying creature spells by two generic mana, so colored requirements remain unchanged. Gigantosaurus still costs five green mana, while large creatures with generic costs become easier to deploy; Goreclaw's discount cannot pay for commander tax on Goreclaw herself while she is in the command zone. Combat: When Goreclaw attacks, her trigger boosts your creatures with power four or greater and grants them trample until end of turn, including qualifying creatures that are not attacking. Pathbreaker Ibex, Overwhelming Stampede, and End-Raze Forerunners provide additional finishing attacks; resolve overlapping combat triggers in the order that produces the strongest board. Interaction and recovery: Kogla, Acidic Slime, Terastodon, and Woodfall Primus remove obstacles while advancing your creature plan. Bane of Progress also destroys your own artifacts and enchantments, including draw engines and land Auras. Keep Wrap in Vigor for destruction effects, remembering that regeneration does not stop exile or toughness-reduction sweepers.
