Toph, the First Metalbender turns your artifacts into lands and your lands into hasty, counter-stacked brawlers that keep coming back. Welcome to Earth Rumble VII.
Ramp early with Sol Ring, Arcane Signet, Explore and Badgermole Cub, then cast Toph. She makes every nontoken artifact a land, so each artifact you cast triggers landfall. That proliferates with Evolution Sage, adds quest counters to Earthbender Ascension and gives Toph, Earthbending Master experience counters. It also gives you one more thing to earthbend. At the end of each of your turns, Toph earthbends 2: a land becomes a hasty creature that comes back to the battlefield whenever it dies or is exiled, and Terrasymbiosis turns those counters into cards. Haru earthbends every time another Ally enters. Bumi, Eclectic Earthbender and Avatar Kyoshi, Earthbender keep stacking counters, and Badgermole Cub makes every creature-land tap for an extra {G}. To close the game, Toph, Greatest Earthbender gives all your land creatures double strike, and Beastmaster Ascension or Return of the Wildspeaker adds enough damage to finish. Since your army is made of lands, your board wipes hit opponents much harder than you: Hour of Revelation only destroys nonland permanents. Blasphemous Act and Avatar’s Wrath clear the table, but your earthbent lands come right back. The Walls of Ba Sing Se makes everything else you control indestructible. Play tips Earthbend lands or mana rocks, not Equipment you’re using. An Equipment that becomes a creature falls off. Avatar Kyoshi untaps the land she animates. Tap it for mana in your first main phase and it can still attack. Avatar’s Wrath lets you keep one creature, so keep Toph. Hour of Revelation kills Toph unless the Walls are out, but your artifacts and land creatures survive.
