Niv's Final Notice

Cards

Notes

Build your mana early and establish lifegain engines like Soul Warden, Authority of the Consuls, and Pristine Talisman before bringing out Niv. Once he’s on the battlefield, convert those life gains into cards while keeping protection available for your key creatures. Sheoldred supercharges your draw engine, while Thalia slows opposing interaction and supplies lifelink damage. Archangel of Thune and Crested Sunmare turn repeated lifegain into a threatening board, and Gray Merchant of Asphodel provides a powerful drain finish. Exquisite Blood and Sanguine Bond offer a game-ending combo when the opportunity arises. Balance drawing cards with preserving your life total, avoid overcommitting into board wipes, and remember that Niv’s draw ability is optional—especially when Sheoldred threatens to draw through your library.
